These methods help researchers position their work within broader trends\, giving them an edge in adapting to future challenges. In this interactive workshop\, we will explore how understanding megatrends and thinking in systems can open up new possibilities in your specific area of research. You will learn to map the wider context of your field\, uncover key influences and connections\, and identify strategic opportunities to drive positive change through your work —rather than simply assuming there is one path-dependent future that will unfold regardless. \nAfter completing this workshop\, you will: \nKnow how to use the megatrend map to anticipate changes and opportunities in your scientific field. \nHave a more holistic understanding of your research area by adopting a systems-thinking view of key actors\, resources\, and interconnections. \nIdentify actionable approaches to innovate within your discipline by leveraging interconnections with the broader system\, enabling you to shape future outcomes. \nAbout the speaker \nValerie-Sophie Schoenberg works at the intersection of innovation\, entrepreneurship and sustainability\, with expertise in circular economy strategies and systemic organizational development. As owner of Schönberg Consulting\, she advises startups\, accompanies processes and manages projects for companies of all sizes and the public sector. To scale her impact\, she is Member of the Board of Member of the Circular Economy Forum Austria and teaches in academic programs in Austria and Germany.
